Author Help

Notice:

Thank you for your interest in Canterbury House, an imprint of Dudley Court Press. Because we are a small publishing house with minimal staff, our response time can take up to three months. We are currently accepting submissions. Please be sure to adhere to the following guidelines.

Manuscript Submission Guidelines:

We have recently revised our submission guidelines. Please familiarize yourself with the guidelines below.

Are you an author of uplifting fiction? Canterbury House, an imprint of Dudley Court Press may be interested in publishing your book?

Uplifting fiction reflects one or more of these themes:

  • Feel good
  • Protagonist overcomes challenges and thrives
  • Positive transformation
  • Good conquers evil
  • Good guys/gals win in the end
  • Inspirational

We are looking for uplifting fiction. We will consider a story with an interesting supernatural element as long as it’s regionally significant. We will consider a well written memoir or inspirational novel that has a strong regional appeal.

We are not interested in spy thrillers, dystopian, or any books with graphic violence, sex, or foul language. We are not interested in children books, young adult novels, and poetry.

To be considered for publication, your uplifting fiction manuscript should be between 50,000 and 100,000 words and you should have an active author platform (including social media, newsletters, writing affiliations, etc.).

We accept submissions year round. There is no fee to apply.

Interested in submitting your manuscript? Please fill out of Submission Form.

Thank you for considering submission of your manuscript to our publishing house.
